The year is almost complete but 2009- 2010 will remembered as one of the great years in Stepinac Athletics history.
Our Basketball team rallied at the end of season & won the CHSAA A Championship over Cardinal Hayes at a packed Fordham University gym. They went on to play in the State championship vs Nichols HS[ which went on to the federation championship & #1 ranking]. The Varsity lost that game but won fans all over western NY by playing hard & showing class in defeat. Thomas Decker won the Westchester Con Ed Scholar Athlete award for his efforts on & off the field. Conroy Baltimore was also nominated for Con Ed award & made All NY State all Star team. Conroy is being heavily recruited by Div 1 teams
Varsity Football team started season off with a 8-0 record & won the CHSFL AA division championship. Josh Powell recieved All State honors & will continue his career at SUNY Morrisville. MVP Joe Telesco will go to AIC on a Lacrosse scholarship. Rameal Roberson OT received a full academic scholarship to Univ of Pittsburgh. James Mullin will play at Kings College , Andrea Gigi will play at Alfred University. Juniors Donnie Simmons & Tyrell Goodman are making the Stepinac parking lot a busy place with many major colleges stopping by to check them out. Donnie has received a full scholarship offer from Akron University & Syracuse already.

Varsity Baseball team did not disappoint. They beat Fordham Prep on Friday to win their 3 rd Bronx - Westchester Division Championship in a row . They are in seeding round as we speak. & hope to add a CHSAA City Championship to the wall in gym. Steven Martinez signed a letter of intent to play Baseball at Pace University on Scholarship next fall.
Golf team upset #1 Archbishop Molloy to move into the semi finals against Fordham prep this week. Rocco Miano ws named to NY State golf tournament. James Chillemi & Michael Collins are alternates.
Varsity Hockey had small numbers but a big heart. They competed each night as hard as they could. Rocco Miano was named CHSHL MVP & scoring champ. Shaun Hanlon was all league. These two seniors help lead our team to two straight CHSHL championship games.
We competed this year in Swimming & Wrestling as new sports at Stepinac. We built a brand new wrestling room & hope sport takes off with us entering the league next year as a full time member.
