Varsity lax loses to St Dom's 8-7 in semifinals

Stepinac was down 2-1 in the first quarter and battled back to take a 4-3 halftime lead. In the third quarter St. Dominic's scored four goals to Stepinac's one making it 7-5 St. Dominic's going into the fourth quarter. The Crusaders outscored the Bayhawks 2-1 in the final frame and just didn't get the shot off in the last seconds of the game. The final Score was 8-7. The Crusaders were led in scoring by Kevin McCarthy who had 3 goals, Shaun Hanlon who had 2 goals and 2 assists and Alex Wilster who had 1 goal and 3 assists. The St. Dominic Bayhawks had seven different scorers. Dan Ahern lead the attack with 1 goal and 2 assists.
St. Dominic's moves on to play in the finals vs. St. Mary's on Thursday at Adelphi University. The Stepinac Crusaders finish up with a 14-6 record.
